"Free Hugs," the sign read in bright, bloody red. Braving the cold, they offered hugs to random strangers walking past the Downtown Vancouver Art Gallery on Robson Street this past weekend, an area of the city not typically associated with fellowship and embrace, but rather, conspicuous consumption. I watched as a few random individuals received these free hugs, and witnessed their looks of happiness as they continued on with their day.
